[CogSci] TT Assistant Professor position in Cognitive Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Colorado State University (CSU) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in COGNITIVE  PSYCHOLOGY with an appointment date of August 16, 2024.

Priority will be given to candidates with research expertise in areas related to the Science of Learning, Human Factors Psychology, and/or Data Science (broadly construed). Candidates should demonstrate the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate level coursework in Cognitive Psychology.

Required qualifications:
The candidate must have a Ph.D., or anticipate Ph.D. completion by 07/31/2024, in Cognitive Psychology or a related discipline. Candidates must also have an active research program in Cognitive Psychology, a clear and consistent record of publication in Cognitive Psychology and demonstrated excellence or the potential for excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentoring in Cognitive Psychology.

Preferred qualifications: Priority may be given to candidates with one or more of the following preferred qualifications:

(1) An active research program in  areas of growth within Cognitive Psychology at CSU: i) Science of Learning (e.g., basic and applied research in human memory, learning, attention, reasoning, problem solving or creativity), ii) Human Factors Psychology (e.g., applied attention theory, attentional focus in a multimedia environment, decision and risk, cybersecurity, human-AI interaction, or misinformation) or iii) Data Science (e.g., machine learning approaches to understanding cognition such as Natural Language Processing, Big Data approaches like Learning Analytics for applying Cognitive Psychology in educational settings, network science approaches, human AI-interaction, advanced statistical methodologies, or data visualization). (2) A strong publication record in Cognitive Psychology or closely related fields (3) Evidence of potential to collaborate with and develop partnerships with CSU colleagues in related fields, such as Human Factors, Ergonomics, Education, Computer Science, Math, Statistics, I/O Psychology, Social Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, Engineering, Design, Communication, Economics, Business, the interdisciplinary Molecular, Cellular and Integrative Neuroscience (MCIN) program at CSU and its associated Neuroscience major. (4) Demonstrated excellence or the potential for excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching in Cognitive Psychology and related courses (e.g., Science of Learning, Learning and Memory, Human Factors, Applied Cognition, Sensation and Perception, Research Methods or courses related to Data Science); (5) Experience with mentoring graduate students in Cognitive Psychology; (6) Evidence of potential to obtain external research funding; (7) Evidence of potential to contribute to work in diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice consistent with CSU and Department values (see special instructions) to help advance our campus diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice goals; (8) Evidence of potential to contribute to CSU's emerging Data Science area-e.g., contributing to the new Data Science major<https://datascience.colostate.edu/> at CSU or offering new Data Science courses.
