The NSF-Funded *ManyNumbers Project* seeks to hire three postdoctoral
researchers to join our team (start date open). The ManyNumbers project is
a large international collaboration seeking to uncover the conceptual
foundations of early numeracy. The three postdoc positions each have unique
emphases and are based at three different universities:

*Position 1*, under the supervision of Dr. Elizabeth Gunderson (
liz.gunderson at temple.edu) at Temple University, will primarily focus on a
large scale collaboration exploring number word learning in preschoolers.

*Position 2,* under the supervision of Dr. Sara Cordes (cordess at bc.edu) at
Boston College, will primarily focus on a large scale collaboration
exploring small set representations in toddlers.

*Position 3*, under the supervision of Dr. David Barner (dbarner at ucsd.edu
<barner at ucsd.edu>) at University of California, San Diego, will also
conduct empirical research but with a focus on data science and
quantitative methods related to both projects.

These positions offer a unique opportunity for postdoctoral scholars to
develop analytic and experimental skills while leading a project at the
forefront of multi-lab collaboration efforts. Postdocs will have the
opportunity to 1) interact with and learn from a large community of top
researchers in the field of numerical cognition and math education, forming
a valuable professional network, 2) become leaders in multi-lab
collaborations, preregistration, and open science, 3) develop advanced
quantitative and analytic skills, 4) explore fundamental questions about
human cognition, learning, and development, and 5) develop their own line
of independent research related to numerical cognition. The postdocs will
have the option to visit the labs of other members of the leadership team,
working closely with other faculty to develop research methods, learn
specific skills, and/or collaborate on data analysis and writing.

Temple University, Boston College, and UCSD each provide vibrant
intellectual environments to support the postdoctoral scholars’
development. All three universities are Equal Opportunity / Affirmative
Action employers.

Interested applicants are expected to have completed their Ph.D. during or
before Summer, 2023. Full applications should include a completed
application form, cover letter describing your interests and prior
experiences, your c.v., and the contact information for 3 references.
Applicants are welcome apply to more than one of the positions – please
indicate that you are doing so in the application and cover letter. Review
of applications will begin November 1. Any questions about the positions
and/or the application process should be directed to Drs. Gunderson,
Cordes, or Barner.
