Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to share an opening for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Clinical Research Center for Developmental Language Disorder at the University of Houston.

This is an NIH-funded position supporting a multi-year longitudinal study examining early developmental pathways to Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) in a large, diverse cohort of children ages 2–4. The project integrates language, cognitive, motor, and environmental domains with the overarching goal of improving early identification of DLD.

The fellow will lead implementation of language assessment protocols — including language sampling, transcription and coding of parent-child interactions, and administration of standardized and parent-report measures — and will contribute to data analysis, manuscript preparation, and mentorship of graduate students and research assistants. The position is embedded within a multidisciplinary, collaborative team, and candidates with interest in intersecting domains (cognition, motor development, quantitative methods, or population science) are strongly encouraged to apply.

Preferred qualifications include:
- Expertise in early language development and/or DLD
- Experience with bilingual (Spanish–English) populations
- Experience with standardized language assessments and/or parent-report measures
- Interest in interdisciplinary research
- Minimum qualification: PhD in Speech-Language Pathology, Linguistics, Psychology, or a closely related field, completed by start date.

Details:
- Location: Houston, TX (in-person; relocation required)
- Start Date: August 1, 2026 (negotiable within summer 2026)
- Commitment: 2–3 years minimum
- Salary: NIH postdoctoral scale with full benefits package

To apply, please submit a CV, brief statement of research interests, and contact information for three references through the University of Houston's hiring system. Review of applications begins immediately.

Thank you for sharing with anyone who may be a strong fit.

Kind regards,
Jeremy
