[CogSci] Applications open until May 1st for the 2026 School on Analytical Connectionism (August 17th to 28th)

Dear friends and colleagues,

We are happy to announce that applications are now open for the 2026 School
on Analytical Connectionism
<https://www.analytical-connectionism.net/school/2026/>, dedicated this
year to *language acquisition*.

The school series focuses on analyzing neural networks as models of
cognition, bringing together ideas from connectionism, cognitive science,
and theory of machine learning. This year we will discuss questions like: *How
can structured linguistic knowledge emerge during learning from
naturalistic input? What principles govern the representation of this
structured linguistic knowledge in neural systems? How do these principles
enable compositionality and other forms of generalisation in language? And,
in answering these questions, can we move from empirical demonstrations
with neural networks toward mathematical principles of language
acquisition?*

This two-week school, where participants will attend lectures, work on
group research projects, and co-author lecture notes for publication, will
take place at the Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden,
from August 17th to 28th, 2026. The application deadline for trainee
participants is now *May 1st*.
