<html><body><font face="ui-sans-serif, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12px">Dear friends and colleagues,</span><br><br><span style="font-size:12px">We are happy to announce that applications are now open for the </span><a href="https://www.analytical-connectionism.net/school/2026/" style="font-size:12px">2026 School on Analytical Connectionism</a><span style="font-size:12px">, dedicated this year to </span><b style="font-size:12px">language acquisition</b><span style="font-size:12px">.</span><br><br><span style="font-size:12px">The school series focuses on analyzing neural networks as models of cognition, bringing together ideas from connectionism, cognitive science, and theory of machine learning. This year we will discuss questions like: </span><i style="font-size:12px">How can structured linguistic knowledge emerge during learning from naturalistic input? What principles govern the representation of this structured linguistic knowledge in neural systems? How do these principles enable compositionality and other forms of generalisation in language? And, in answering these questions, can we move from <b>empirical </b>demonstrations with neural networks toward <b>mathematical</b> principles of language acquisition?</i><br><br><span style="font-size:12px">This two-week school, where participants will attend lectures, work on group research projects, and co-author lecture notes for publication, will take place at the Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden, from August 17th to 28th, 2026.
