[CogSci] Post-Doc and Post-Bac Opportunities to Work on the John Templeton Foundation funded project “Laying the Groundwork for a Developmental Science of Intellectual Humility”

The “Laying the Groundwork for a Developmental Science of Intellectual
Humility (IH)” project currently has openings for a post-bac project
coordinator (based at Franklin & Marshall College) and a postdoctoral
fellow (based at the University of Toronto).


This multi-site collaborative project will set the foundation for a
developmental science of IH by developing a self-report measure with good
psychometric properties that can measure trait IH in children from 6 to 10
years of age.

The following opportunities are available:


*Postdoctoral Fellow:*


A 2-year postdoctoral fellowship with Dr. Samuel Ronfard at the University
of Toronto (Salary $70,000 CAD + benefits, start date is somewhat flexible
between March and July). The postdoctoral fellow will be expected to take a
leadership role on this project and work closely with all project leaders
and affiliated researchers. The postdoctoral fellow is expected to embody
our core values <https://www.utmchildlab.com/research-1>. The successful
candidate will receive substantive career mentoring and opportunities for
independent research and professional development. The postdoctoral fellow
will be expected to be on campus a minimum of 2-3 times a week. Please feel

Qualifications: Graduate training in cognitive and/or developmental
psychology, cognitive science or (science) education; background in
experimental research design; experience conducting developmental research;
background in psychometrics; previous research experience on, or interest
in IH; excellent capacity for independent, creative scholarship and strong
writing skills.

*Post-Bac Project Coordinator:*


A 15-month project coordinator position with Dr. Joshua Rottman at Franklin
& Marshall College (Wages: $17.50/hour + benefits). The position will
involve recruiting and testing participants, supporting undergraduate
research assistants, responding to lab emails, organizing schedules,
managing the budget, and otherwise ensuring that the project is kept on
track. This full-time, non-remote position will last from approximately
June 3, 2024 until approximately August 15, 2025.  Please reach out to Josh

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in cognitive and/or developmental
psychology, cognitive science, science education, or a related field (by
