We are looking for candidates for 3 fully funded PhD positions in the Cognitive Neuroscience Research Program at the Medical College of Wisconsin. We are investigating the neural mechanisms of language processing and concept representation using functional MRI, MEG/EEG, TMS, implanted depth electrodes (sEEG), electrocorticography, and voxel-based lesion-symptom mapping (VLSM). Candidates should have a background in cognitive psychology, neuroscience, or computer science, and should have basic knowledge of statistics (t test, ANOVA). Familiarity with Linux and Python (or Matlab) is desirable but not required.

Successful candidates will enroll into one of four doctoral programs (Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Biophysics, or Interdisciplinary) and will work with Drs. Leo Fernandino, Andrew Anderson, Bill Gross, and Jeffrey Binder.

The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is the 3rd largest private medical school in the US. Functional MRI capabilities are a unique strength at MCW due to an internationally renowned Biophysics Department. Milwaukee is located on the shore of Lake Michigan, 90 miles north of Chicago. The city is known for its many breweries and music festivals and is considered very affordable.

To be considered for this position, please submit your CV including contact information for two references along with a cover letter describing your goals for the PhD (2 pages max.) to Leo Fernandino (lfernandino at mcw.edu).
