[CogSci] Postdoc research position available at Birkbeck, University of London

We’d like to announce an 18-month fixed-term postdoctoral fellowship opportunity, to support work on a project funded by the Economic and Social Research Council entitled “Dimension-selective attention and second language acquisition”. Learning a second language in adulthood can be a difficult process, and many second language learners end up struggling to comprehend speech and producing heavily accented speech. One possible reason why learning a second language can be so difficult is that different acoustic dimensions play different roles in different languages. This project will use EEG and fMRI to investigate attention to auditory dimensions and its role in language learning. The application deadline is 19th July.
