*Research Assistant *

*Brown University*

*Providence, Rhode Island*

The Brown Language and Thought Lab, directed by Dr. Roman Feiman, is
seeking a full time Lead Research Assistant. Review of applications will
begin immediately and continue on a rolling basis until the position is
filled. Applications received before March 15th will receive the strongest
consideration.

The lab conducts research with adults, children, and infants, investigating
language comprehension, language acquisition, and conceptual development.
The lab is embedded in a thriving broader research environment: the
Department of Cognitive, Linguistic, and Psychological Sciences at Brown
University, a multidisciplinary community that takes complementary
approaches to the study of the mind, brain, behavior, and language. The
ideal candidate would be on the path to graduate study in these fields, be
intellectually engaged, highly organized, and eager to take on both the
academic and administrative challenges of this role.

The Research Assistant’s primary responsibilities will include managing and
leading research projects in the lab; designing and preparing stimuli for
studies; recruiting and testing infants, children and adults; coding data;
assisting with data analysis; and participating in the preparation of
research for publications. On the administrative side, responsibilities
will include maintaining and improving systems for data and resource
management and communication within and outside of the lab, coordinating
recruitment and experimental studies with local daycares, preschools,
primary schools and families both in-person and online, training and
overseeing undergraduate assistants, coordinating the use of space,
organizing meetings, purchasing equipment and research supplies,
collaborating and coordinating with other developmental laboratories, and
assisting with grant management and IRB documentation.
