The Computational Affective and Social Cognition (CASCog) Lab, led by Dr.
Desmond Ong and which recently moved to The University of Texas at Austin,
is looking to recruit up to *two (2) Postdoctoral Fellows*, and *one (1)
post-baccalaureate Lab Coordinator* (aka lab manager / research assistant)
to start in Summer/Fall 2023.

In our lab, we are interested in studying how people understand the
emotions and other mental states of others, and distilling such insights
into building computers that can better understand these uniquely human

Detailed Job Ad for Postdoc position

One Postdoctoral Fellow will work primarily on projects related to empathy
interventions. Ideal candidates will have a background and interest in:
social-psychological interventions (e.g., reducing intergroup conflict;
increasing empathy; changing attitudes), and/or expertise in empathy.

Another Postdoctoral Fellow will work primarily on projects related to
affective cognition, or understanding how people reason about others'
emotions, for example in ambiguous situations, or in situations where
others are deliberately displaying emotional expressions.
