Postdoctoral Position in Cognitive Science

Weinberg Institute for Cognitive Science

University of Michigan, Ann Arbor

The Weinberg Institute for Cognitive Science at The University of Michigan
invites applications from creative, highly qualified and motivated
researchers for a two-year postdoctoral position. The position is primarily
a research appointment, but also involves annually co-teaching  a cognitive
science graduate or undergraduate seminar with a UM faculty member, or the
instruction of one Cognitive Science course.  Review of applicants will
start on 2/20/23, and will continue until the position is filled.  The
desired start date of the appointment is September 2023, but this is
negotiable.

We welcome applications working in all areas of cognitive science spanning
linguistics, philosophy, psychology, neuroscience, and related fields such
as computer science / AI and psychiatry.

The Weinberg Institute seeks applicants willing to collaboratively and
innovatively contribute to the developing Institute, the mission of which
is to create a world class center for cognitive science research and
teaching, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

QUALIFICATIONS: The successful application will hold a Ph.D.  in any area
of cognitive science and have a demonstrated record of high quality
research.

APPLICATION: Applications should include a cover letter, a CV, a research
statement (not more than 2 pages), a one page teaching statement and
contact information for 3 references. Research statements should specify
how the applicant’s research will integrate with and benefit from ongoing
cognitive science research conducted at The University of Michigan.  For
example, the research statements could make ties to the interests of
faculty from the Departments of Linguistics, Psychology, Philosophy,
Computer Science and Engineering and/or The Neuroscience PhD Program, or
related departments and units. Please combine all application materials (in
