The Center for Effective Global Action and the Language and Cognitive
Development (LCD) Lab at UC Berkeley seeks a full-time study coordinator to
support the East Bay Financial Needs Study

The study coordinator will coordinate all aspects of The East Bay Financial
Needs Study, which is focused on better understanding how financial strain
affects parenting, child development and well-being in the San Francisco
East Bay, California.


Responsibilities include community engagement and participant recruitment,
study implementation, and data collection and management. The study
coordinator can also contribute to data analysis and preparation of results
for publication. The study coordinator will work in collaboration with the
UC Berkeley Language and Cognitive Development (LCD) Lab and the PEP
Initiative, under the guidance of project principal investigators Mahesh
Srinivasan (Psychology) and Supreet Kaur (Economics), as well as program
manager Kristina Hallez (CEGA).

Candidates should have a strong interest in language and cognitive development,
and experience working with human subjects, especially children, in an
academic research environment. A general fluency with computer software,
and strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (both
oral and written) are also required. This position requires a valid
driver’s license and DMV check for driving record. The strongest candidates
will also have experience with online survey platforms (e.g. Qualtrics)
statistical software (e.g., R, Python), computer programming (e.g., Matlab)
and web design (Javascript/HTML). Spanish fluency is a bonus.


This unique position is ideal for a recent college graduate who would like
to gain hands-on research and programmatic experience before applying to
graduate school.
