[CogSci] Open Positions in new Lab at UCLA

The Rational Altruism Lab at UCLA has open positions for Ph.D. students
motivated to conduct rigorous empirical, theoretical, and computational
research in psychology with a high positive social impact. Possible topics
include rationality and decision-making, goal-setting and motivation, as
well as value change and the learning mechanisms that change how people
think and decide. Our projects will range from fundamental basic research
to developing and evaluating digital interventions. If you want to be

Our mission is to help lay the scientific foundations for fostering and
supporting the effective pursuit of highly impactful altruistic projects.
This includes research on understanding and improving goal-setting and
decision-making, motivation, moral values and moral reasoning, rationality,

Applicants with a background in psychology, economics, cognitive science,
computer science, mathematics, statistics, ML/AI, education, HCI, or a
related discipline are welcome. The earliest possible start date for the
postdoc, lab manager, and web developer positions is July 1, 2023. The
first Ph.D. student(s) will start in Fall 2023, and the application
