Description: The Department of Applied Linguistics in the College of Arts
and Sciences is seeking to hire a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work
in the newly funded National Science Foundation AI Institute for Adult
Learning and Online Education (ALOE). The research associate will help in
all aspects of the project and assist in developing natural language
processing techniques and tools, data analytics, general educational
research, and project evaluation. The research associate will contribute to
artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) enhanced research
design, attend weekly project meetings, conduct data collection, analyze
data, write scientific papers, and help train and mentor undergraduate and
graduate students. The research associate will work as part of a diverse,
supportive, and collaborative team that includes nationally recognized
universities, corporate partners, and technical colleges.



Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

·        Doctoral Degree in computer science, learning science, cognitive
science, linguistics

·        Experience with

o   Natural language processing

o   Learning analytics

o   Educational data mining

o   Learning engineering

·        Proficiency in

o   Python

o   R



Compensation: Starting salary is between $60,000 and $70,000 depending on
experience.
