*Description*

*The Department of Psychology at the University of Washington* invites
applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor
position in *developmental
psychology*.



UW faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. Applicants will be
expected to provide high-quality teaching and mentoring at both the
undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful applicant will be
expected to promote the success of students from underrepresented racial
and ethnic groups in academia. The successful candidate is expected
to develop a record of high-quality publications and a funded research
program.

Positive factors for consideration include, but are not limited to, a
record of combining the study of behavior with other methods or approaches.

This position has an anticipated start date of September 16, 2023 and has a
9-month service period (Sept 16-June 15).

*Qualifications*

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) in Psychology
or a related discipline by the time of appointment.

We seek candidates whose core training is in social and/or cognitive
development.

Candidates must demonstrate a record of research focused on one or more of
the following (or related) topics from infancy into middle childhood: the
development of social categories, stereotypes, and bias; the development of
intergroup social cognition; the influence of varied cultural experiences
on social and/or cognitive development; or the effects of adversity on
cognitive development. Candidates who combine the study of behavior with
other methods or approaches are encouraged to apply.

vitae, three references who can be contacted for letters of recommendation,
a research sample of no more than two reprints or preprints, and a
diversity statement of no more than 500 words. The diversity statement
should address leadership, commitment, and experiences with diversity,
