*The position***
The position is linked to a project on social-cognitive development led
by Hannes Rakoczy (University of Göttingen) and Tobias Schuwerk (LMU,
Munich) and funded by the German Science Foundation. The project
investigates the development of implicit and explicit forms of Theory of
Mind in infancy, early childhood and across the lifespan.
The project is part of the international multi-lab “ManyBabies2” project
dedicated to systematically investigating the replicability and validity
of infant Theory of Mind measures (https://manybabies.github.io/MB2/).
The postdoctoral researcher will take a leading role in designing her
own research program, in theory building, designing and conducting
experimental work with children and adults in the local project in
Göttingen and Munich.
In the ManyBabies2 project, the postdoctoral researcher will act as the
scientific coordinator of the consortium and will play a crucial role in
coordinating experiments and big data analyses across labs worldwide.
The postdoctoral researcher will closely collaborate with the Executive
Director and the governing board of the general ManyBabies consortium,
and has the opportunity to participate in a rich cooperation with
Psychological Science Accelerator and related open science and
meta-science institutions worldwide.
*Requirements***
Master and PhD degrees in Psychology, Cognitive Science or a related
field are required. Candidates should have an outstanding track record
in research in cognitive development or related fields, ideally with
experience in experimentation with infants and children. Candidates need
to have excellent methodological skills, ideally involving experience
with eyetracking and looking-time techniques, and excellent programming
and statistical skills (especially R), ideally involving big data and
meta-analytical methods. German language skills are desirable.
