[CogSci] Call For Papers: Cracow Cognitive Science Conference

[Cracow Cognitive Science Conference]

We are pleased to invite you to the 12th edition of the Cracow Cognitive Science Conference which will take place on the 9th and 10th May 2020 in Cracow, Poland. The theme of the upcoming edition is Religion and Beliefs.


Some of the topics of the upcoming conference include, but are not limited to:

  *   Neural correlates of religiosity
  *   Research on religion - a philosophical perspective
  *   Methods and history of research on religion in Cognitive Science
  *   Altered states of consciousness in religious/spiritual experiences
  *   (Non)religious beliefs: paranormal beliefs, conspiracy theories


You can present your work in the form of a talk, symposium or poster. The conference fee for active participants is 100 PLN. Passive participation is free of charge and does not require registration.

The initial deadline for sending abstracts and registering as an active participant is the 10th of March.

We will be hosting three special guests:

1) Dr Michiel van Elk from the Amsterdam University, Netherlands - “Experimental Research on Extraordinary Experiences”


2) Prof. Vassilis Saroglou from the Louvan University, Belgium - “Does Faith Broaden the Mind or Impair Rationality?”


3) Uffe Schjoedt from the Aarhus University, Denmark - “Religious Cognition in Predictive minds”


CCSC is an annual event organized by the Jagiellonian University’s Cognitive Science Student Association. The central idea of the Conference has been to contribute to the development of cognitive science as a whole by popularizing the research that is being done in the field and providing an opportunity for conversations with academics and students from related disciplines.
