[CogSci] Postdoctoral Position in Ed Tech Design at Arizona State University

The Department of Psychology at Arizona State University invites
applications for a Postdoctoral Research Scholar to join the Science of
Learning and Educational Technologies (SoLET) Laboratory directed by
Danielle McNamara. The postdoctoral research scholar will work on projects
funded by the IES and ONR to aid in (a) design and testing of tutoring
modules, (b) design and text game-based literacy assessment, and (c)
explore factors influencing students’ performance in comprehension and
writing. The candidates will be involved in studies with elementary, high
school, and college students. Ideal candidates will also have expertise in
experimental and quantitative methods and be interested in working in a
collaborative research lab, particularly one focusing on learning and
cognitive sciences. Ideal candidates will have specific expertise and
experience in two or more of the following areas: educational technology
design and assessment, HCI, game design, intelligent/adaptive tutoring
systems. Further, we seek evidence of concrete design skills (i.e., design
methods) such as how to assess usability, user needs, user experience,
prototyping, and wireframing.



The position is full-time, benefits-eligible appointment with no tenure
implications. Anticipated start date is July 1, 2020.



The qualification for this position: must have earned a Ph.D. in
educational psychology, computer science, human factors, or psychology, or
in a related field within the past four years.
