[Apologies for multiple postings]

The Linguistics Department of the University of Massachusetts Amherst invites applications for an Associate Professor tenure-track position in Psycholinguistics, starting September 1, 2019. We seek a candidate whose research interests complement those of the current Linguistics faculty, who can contribute breadth and depth to the department with respect to research, teaching, and advising at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and who can engage with the development of the Cognitive Science Institute, a broad, interdisciplinary group focused on fostering Cognitive Science research across the UMass Community (https://blogs.umass.edu/cogsci/institute/overview-mission/). Highly qualified candidates at the Assistant Professor level will also receive consideration. Qualified applicants should have a Ph.D. in Linguistics or a related field (Psychology, Cognitive Science) by time of appointment. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience, and the University offers an attractive benefits package.

Application Instructions:
To apply, please submit a letter of application, statement of research and teaching interests, curriculum vitae, copies of research papers, evidence of teaching ability, and a list of three current referees with full contact information including valid email addresses to the application link below.

Applicants should apply by the priority deadline of November 21, 2018 in order to ensure consideration, but review of applications will continue until the position is filled.

The university is committed to active recruitment of a diverse faculty and student body. The University of Massachusetts Amherst is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer of women, minorities, protected veterans, and individuals with disabilities and encourages applications from these and other protected group members. Because broad diversity is essential to an inclusive climate and critical to the University's goals of achieving excellence in all areas, we will holistically assess the many qualifications of each applicant and favorably consider an individual's record working with students and colleagues with broadly diverse perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds in educational, research or other work activities. We will also favorably consider experience overcoming or helping others overcome barriers to an academic degree and career.

Application Deadline: 21-Nov-2018 (Open until filled)
