NAACL HLT Workshop on Cognitive Knowledge Acquisition and Applications (Cognitum 2018)
==============================================================================
The fourth Cognitum workshop focuses on the integration of natural language processing and knowledge representation and reasoning, which has proved to be a particularly thorny problem in the context of knowledge acquisition. A detailed call for papers can be found here: http://cognitum.ws
KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Peter Clark, Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence
SHARED TASK: Question Answering about Banking (sponsored by Capital One)
The task aims to explore whether existing Q&As that were posed and answered by humans, can be reused to answer novel test questions. Instead of returning an actual answer to each test question (which would require the synthesis of grammatically correct answers), the submitted systems are expected to return only three appropriate Q&As from a given corpus (focusing, thus, on the problem of identifying similarity, or entailment between questions). System responses will be evaluated by domain experts. A detailed description of the shared task can be found here: http://cognitum.ws
Prize: $1000 for the top-performing system, subject to minimum performance / participation conditions.
IMPORTANT DATES:
February 3, 2018: Shared task registration begins.
March 2, 2018: Workshop papers due.
April 2, 2018: Notification of workshop paper acceptance.
April 16, 2018: Camera-ready workshop papers due.
June 6, 2018: Workshop and shared task competition.
ORGANIZERS: Loizos Michael, Open University of Cyprus & Erik T. Mueller, Capital One
