Dear Researchers,

We hope this e-mail finds you well.
We are in the process of conducting a meta-analysis on the object-based correspondence effect (affordance effect/object based Simon effect / action priming). We are currently seeking any unpublished data measuring the object-based correspondence effect using images of graspable objects as stimuli.

We are interested in studies that satisfy the following:

  1. Stimuli are either images, silhouettes, or drawings of objects that afford either left or right-handed grasps via a handle or other protrusion.
  2. Participants make keypress responses (either using two fingers of the same hand or fingers from opposing hands).
  3. Contain behavioural data (RTs and errors).
We seek effect sizes, means and SDs, difference scores (and SDs of difference scores), and correlations for RT and error data.
If you have a manuscript draft including such information and are willing to share this with us, this would be ideal. If you would prefer not to share work in draft or if you have not yet drafted anything, it would be great if you could send the following information:
Demographics
Age, gender, N
Description of the task
E.g. nature of the decision, response mode (within vs between hands), viewing distance, number of trials, trial structure
Description of the stimuli
E.g. stimuli type (photo/drawing/silhouette), number of stimuli, size of stimuli
Effect sizes
Means and SDs, difference scores (and SDs of difference scores), and correlations for RT and error data.
Any other relevant information

If you have unpublished data that fit the above criteria, or any questions, please contact us via e-mail at shaheed.azaad at unimelb.edu.au<mailto:shaheed.azaad at unimelb.edu.au> by September 10, 2018.

Kind regards,
Shaheed Azaad, and Dr Simon Laham
