studies how children and adults learn through exploration, explanation, and question-asking. For example, one ongoing line of work examines how exploration changes with experience, knowledge, and cognitive development. Another investigates the cognitive and

<span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:#212121">The University of New Hampshire is located in Durham, NH—a beautiful New England town just over an hour from Boston, MA and Portland, ME (with Amtrak access to both!), 30 minutes from the ocean, and a couple hours
from the White Mountains. Our PhD program offers rigorous training in both research and teaching. Admitted PhD students are fully funded for five years through a combination of teaching assistantships, research assistantships, and/or teaching as the instructor
