</span><span style="font-family: "Liberation Serif", serif; font-size: 9.75pt; color: rgb(34, 34, 34);">the topic of AI safety is entering the public consciousness. As the capabilities of these systems improve, it is becoming clear that AI systems will have
an impact on every aspect of our lives. Therefore, we should carefully consider how we will integrate these systems into our everyday dealings. Several theorists within the field of AI safety argue that what we face is an
<i>alignment problem</i>, where we may develop artificial agents with motivations that are misaligned with our own. Among the concerns related to issues of AI safety, there is the possibility of existential risk presented by self-improving artificial agents.
As AI may be the last human invention, we should think carefully about all the scientific, political, ethical, legal, and philosophical aspects that surround it. This workshop aims to explore whether we can formulate ethical standards that these systems should
follow and how exactly we should integrate them into society. For that purpose, we seek to explore new perspectives on the issues that AI and related technologies generate. This workshop is primarily aimed at postgraduate students, but postdocs and more senior
academics are also welcome.</span></p>
