
<html><head></head><body><div>The Psycholinguistics Laboratory at the University of Alabama, directed by Dr. Luca Campanelli, is seeking applications for two part-time research assistant positions. The starting date is flexible, although a sooner start is preferred. The number of hours per week is negotiable but is expected to be between 10 and 15 hours. The location is flexible: either Tuscaloosa, Alabama, or fully remote. Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's experience. </div><div><br></div><div>The ideal candidate is a Master's or PhD student with some background knowledge and research interests in one or more of the following areas: </div><div>- Natural language processing and AI/computational models of language processing that are grounded in the principles of human language and cognition;</div><div>- Interplay between memory and prediction functions in language processing; </div><div>- Theoretical and computational models of memory;</div><div>- Individual differences in language processing.</div><div><br></div><div>Depending on the project, responsibilities may include conducting literature reviews, analysis of behavioral/eye-tracking/EEG/fMRI data, developing experimental tasks, programming in R/Python, preparing findings for publication. Previous experience working on eye-tracking, EEG, or fMRI data and knowledge in programming and data analysis in R are a plus. </div><div><br></div><div>Depending on the individual's commitment and objectives, there can be opportunities for co-authoring posters and peer-reviewed publications.</div><div><br></div><div>Dr. Campanelli's laboratory is equipped with an eye-tracker and an electroencephalogram (EEG) system. The lab's work focuses broadly on the cognitive underpinnings of speech and language processing.</div><div><br></div><div>Interested candidates are encouraged to reach out and send their CV directly to Dr. Campanelli (lcampanelli@ua.edu). Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled. </div><div><br></div><div><span></span></div></body></html>
