<p class="Normal1" style="margin-right:4.3pt;line-height:normal"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">The Departments of Linguistics and Statistics at University of California, Davis jointly invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor
position starting Fall 2024. We are seeking an engaged individual, willing to help in creating an exciting environment involving the two thriving departments. A successful candidate is expected to develop a research program at the intersection of Linguistics,
Statistics and Data Science. Within this intersection, the candidate’s focus of inquiry will remain wide open. Interests can range from probabilistic approaches to language processing, to the investigation of societal consequences of big language data or the
application of computational methods to social sciences, to mention but a few.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="Normal1" style="margin-right:4.3pt;line-height:normal"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Desired qualifications include the ability to teach pertinent classes in both linguistics and statistics. Mentoring of undergraduate students, supervision
of graduate students, involvement in curricular development, and performance of university service are expected. A Ph.D. in Linguistics, Statistics, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, or a closely related field must be completed by the beginning of instruction.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="Normal1" style="margin-right:4.3pt;line-height:normal"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Applicants should submit: curriculum vitae, a cover letter that clearly states reasons for the candidate’s interest in the position, qualifications,
