<div dir="ltr"><span lang="en-US"><span class="gmail-jobdescription"><p><b>Postdoctoral position, Language Learning and Meaning Acquisition (LLaMA) Lab at Purdue University</b></p>
</span></span><span lang="en-US"><span class="gmail-jobdescription"><p>Join an interdisciplinary and dynamic team carrying out an NIH-funded
project that measures early word learning and language processing skills
in toddlers and preschoolers. The postdoctoral scholar will be an
integral contributor to a longitudinal project of early lexico-semantic
abilities in young children and will contribute to word learning studies that
build on the learner’s developing knowledge. The scholar will be
encouraged to integrate and develop independent projects within the
scope of the project.</p></span></span><span lang="en-US"><span class="gmail-jobdescription">
<p>The position is full-time, with an initial appointment for one year,
and renewal is possible pending satisfactory performance and
availability of funding. Salary will be according to the NIH
postdoctoral scale, and benefits are provided. Applications will be
continuously reviewed until position is filled. Preferred start date anytime
between July 2022 and January 2023. </p>
<p><b>Requirements</b></p>
<ul><li>Research interests in early language acquisition and word learning </li><li>PhD in a broadly related field (e.g., cognitive science, computer
science, psychology, learning sciences, linguistics,
speech-language-hearing sciences)</li><li>Solid scientific communication and data analytic skills </li><li>Demonstrated capability in analytical coding environments such as R / python </li></ul>
<p><b>Preferred (some combination of)</b></p>
<ul><li>Familiarity with network science, computational modeling, and/or advanced data analytic approaches</li><li>Experience collecting data in online interfaces</li><li>Web and/or app development experience</li><li>Proficiency with measures of language processing using eye-tracking </li></ul>
