<div class="">A Research Assistant post is advertised to join an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) project led by the University of Huddersfield exploring engagement with SMS text messaging scams. The aim of the project is to develop an effective
intervention to reduce engagement with SMS scams.</div>

<div class="">SMS scams are rapidly growing in frequency, although many phone users are unaware of their existence. The project will (i) first develop a computational model of cognition, followed by (ii) experiments designed to test the predictions of the model,
and finally (iii) create the intervention. The Research Assistant will be involved in the second stage of the project - the experimental testing. The position will allow the postholder to attend international conferences, develop their public engagement experience,
engage with stakeholders such as the police and industry, as well as engage in any desired training offered by the University. The postholder would ideally join the project in roughly January or February. </div>
