applications for a tenure-track professorship beginning July 1, 2019. The rank
will be Assistant Professor or Instructor depending on qualifications.
Applicants should possess or be close to completing a doctorate degree. For a
more experienced candidate, appointment at the level of Associate

candidate will participate in our interdisciplinary program with the Philosophy

and Philosophical Studies of Mind</span></a> (SPM) program, by teaching
courses related to their specialty area in the Psychology Department;<a href="https://www.fandm.edu/spm/courses" target="_blank"><span style="color:rgb(39,124,173)"> core
courses in the SPM Program</span></a>; and courses that serve the College's<a href="https://www.fandm.edu/catalog/the-franklin-marshall-college-curriculum" target="_blank"><span style="color:rgb(39,124,173)"> general education curriculum, Connections</span></a>.
Teaching load is 3/2. Our commitment to scholarship is reflected in our
work as active scholars in our disciplines and a focus on student research
including lab experiences throughout the curriculum. To obtain tenure and
promotion, the successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active
program of qualitative or quantitative research resulting in peer-reviewed
publications. The Psychology Department is seated in the Natural Science
Division of the College, and start-up funds and lab space are available to
support scholarly success. The successful candidate also will participate in
academic advising, service, and departmental citizenship as we work together to

APPOINTMENT AT F&M: The person selected for this tenure-track position may
also be considered for a supplemental appointment as a Franklin & Marshall
(Mellon) High Impact Emerging Scholar. These are scholars who possess
outstanding promise for inspiring and supporting the educational development of
underrepresented minority students in a higher educational setting such as
F&M. Selected finalists that meet these additional qualifications, in
addition to those outlined by this ad, may be nominated by the department as a
F&M (Mellon) High Impact Emerging Scholar. If selected as a M/HIES, the
person will receive a two-year appointment (additional to the tenure-track
appointment) that begins as soon as the person joins the campus on the
tenure-track. The M/HIES program supports the acceleration of one's
research trajectory with a significantly reduced teaching load for two years
along with supportive mentoring to advance the scholar's research and
professional development. Candidates interested in being considered for
