[CogSci] MSCA PF 2026 – Hosting Offers at the Daedalus Lab, University of Murcia

Dear all,

I will be much obliged if you circulate the following announcement among potential candidates. At the Daedalus Lab<https://daedalus.um.es/> and my current and future grants we are seeking to support applicants to the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships (application deadline for the fellowship application in September 2026). Candidates need to hold a PhD awarded less than 8 years ago. We are looking for these profiles:

MSCA-PF are among the most prestigious postdoctoral fellowships in the world and one of the best career accelerators in both academia and industry. Additionally, at the University of Murcia there is also a system in place that makes it likely for MSCA-PF grantees to be offered a tenure-track position after their fellowship.

I will be supervising the candidates. As a former MSCA-PF fellow and supervisor, I have already participated in successful proposals and their implementation. The fellows will also have access to mentoring from relevant members of the Daedalus Lab<https://daedalus.um.es/> and a vast international network of collaborators. Among other initiatives, they will be able to benefit from:

Our leading role in the Red Hen Lab<https://www.redhenlab.org/> consortium, a world-wide initiative led by Mark Turner (Case Western Reserve University) and Francis Steen (University of California Los Angeles) to develop large-scale resources and methods for the big-data analysis of multimodal communication.

The MULTICOM<https://multicom-em.eu/> Erasmus Mundus, the first master's degree in the data science of human multimodal communication, coordinated by me with the help of the Daedalus Lab, and co-awarded by Murcia, Lund, and FAU. A great variety of teaching, training, mentoring, and networking opportunities will be available for our MSCA-PF postdocs, from the three universities and the long list of partner organizations participating in MULTICOM.

The MULTIFLOW<https://daedalus.um.es/?page_id=32> <https://daedalus.um.es/?page_id=32> national grant, where I lead a team of PhD candidates, a variety of top-level students, and a wide network collaborators to model multimodal behaviors correlated with specific linguistic patterns. Theoretical work and additional projects connect MULTIFLOW to research on cognitive integration, creativity, poetics, and multimodal AI models.

The MULTIMODUM project, connecting Daedalus large-scale multimodal datasets, video capture system, multimodal processing pipeline, and computing facilities with forthcoming infrastructure at the University of Murcia and the collections and resources at our partners within the Red Hen Lab and beyond. This will allow the MSCA-PF fellows to work with multimodal datasets of top-level quantity and quality.

The MULTIDATA<https://www.multi-data.eu/> <https://www.multi-data.eu/> project and associated initiatives, developing an online multimodal processing pipeline and related initatives applying video dataset development and analysis to the study of storytelling, interactions in clinical treatments and humanitarian actions, or teaching in higher education, among other areas. The MSCA-PF fellows will be trained in these tools and will contribute to their development.
