Position Summary: The Department of Psychology at the University of South Florida seeks to fill a 9-month, full-time and tenure-earning, Assistant Professor position, with a start date of August 7, 2026. Salary is negotiable. A review of applications will begin on October 17, 2025. Applications received after October 17, 2025 may be reviewed and advanced, in cases of compelling merit, up to the conclusion of the search process.
Minimum Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited institution with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service is required. Applications from individuals who are ABD will be accepted, but the degree must be conferred by appointment start date.
Preference will be given to applicants whose research focus is on cognitive neuroscience, with a particular preference for researchers whose work complements existing CNS faculty. We are particularly interested in scholars investigating human cognition, broadly defined, using methodologies such as neuroscience techniques (e.g., EEG, fMRI), computational cognitive neuroscience, or related approaches. Computational cognitive neuroscience, for instance, involves developing and testing brain-inspired models to better understand cognitive processes like perception, memory, language, reasoning, and to inform and complement developments in artificial intelligence. Candidates may use cognitive, neuroscientific, developmental, computational, or social neuroscience methods in laboratory or applied settings.
