The Society for the Science of Motivation
<https://www.scienceofmotivation.org/content.asp?contentid=143> (SSM) is
inviting proposals for talks and posters to be presented at the 17th Annual
Meeting. The meeting will be held in-person on *Thursday, May 22, 2025*, in
advance of the Annual Convention of the Association for Psychological
Science (APS) in *Washington DC*. Both the SSM and APS meetings will be
held in the Washington Hilton (1919 Connecticut Ave. NW, Washington DC).
This year's meeting encourages presentations that explore the topic of
motivation, broadly construed, with contributions from fields such as
cognitive, developmental, and social psychology, cognitive and behavioral
neuroscience, AI, political science, and philosophy.
*We’re thrilled to have an incredible lineup of speakers already confirmed*,
including Alison Gopnik (UC Berkeley), Arie Kruglanski (University of
Maryland), Ayelet Fishbach (University of Chicago Booth), Mickey Inzlicht
(University of Toronto), Tali Sharot (University of College London), Laura
Schulz (MIT), Maya Tamir (The Hebrew University), Luiz Pessoa (University
of Maryland), Abigail Scholer (University of Virginia), Gordon Pennycook

(University of Rochester), Erin Westgate (University of Florida), James
Danckert (University of Waterloo), Matthew Apps (University of Birmingham),
Jacqueline Gottlieb (Columbia University), Emily Liquin (University of New
Hampshire), and Amitai Shenhav (UC Berkeley).
Researchers are welcome to submit for one of two presentation formats:
*Single Papers (in-person only)*: These will undergo a review process and,
if selected, will be organized into 75-minute symposia alongside three
other single papers on related topics. If not selected for this
presentation format, you will automatically be considered for a poster
(unless you elect not to be).
*Posters (in-person only)*: As our largest programming format, posters will
be displayed during a 60-minute session, allowing for live, interactive
engagement. All poster presenters are required to bring a printed poster
for display on a traditional poster board at the meeting.
