The Stanford University Department of Psychology is excited to announce the ninth annual Paths to a Psychology PhD event, which will be held virtually on Saturday, October 18th, 2025 from 10am-5pm PT. This is a free, one-day virtual information session and workshop on applying to research positions and Ph.D. programs in psychology.


The Paths to a Psychology PhD program - both the information session and workshop - is open to people from all backgrounds.


There are 2 components to this program:

  1.  An online information session where you will hear from faculty, graduate students, postdocs, and research staff about their experiences and insights regarding their paths to psychology research, what is typically involved in a psychology PhD program, and key components of PhD program applications.
  2.  A workshop where you can participate in one-on-one or small group sessions with a graduate student, postdoc, or research staff member who will work with you on specific components of your application.


The short application<https://forms.gle/ze9eXoAdWD58XR1QA> to sign up for both is due on Monday, September 29th, 2025 at 11:59pm PT. Everyone who signs up will have access to the information session, but due to limited resources, participants will be selected by application for the workshop.
