LOT Winter School in Linguistics
Dates: 13-Jan-2025 - 24-Jan-2025
Location: Nijmegen, Netherlands

The LOT Winter School 2025 is organised by LOT (Netherlands Graduate School of Linguistics) in collaboration with Radboud University Nijmegen and will take place January 13-24, 2025.

During the LOT Winter School two types of courses are on offer: 1. RM1 courses specifically designed for first-year Research Master (RM) students, and 2. Regular courses, which are open to second-year RM students and PhD students. The RM1 courses will only be given in week 1 (January 13-17). Regular courses will be given in both weeks.

The programme offers a wide variety of relevant topics in linguistics, taught by national and international researchers. During this Winter School, courses will be taught by Andreas Liesenfeld (RM: computational linguistics), Janet Fuller (RM: discourse), Martijn Goudbeek (RM: statistics), Wim Pouw (RM: multimodality), David Peeters (RM: virtual reality), Sible Andringa (RM: second language learning), Sergio Migual Pereira Soares (language acquisition/bilingualism), Sarah Bernolet & Lianne van Lieburg (psycholinguistics), Stefanie Keulen & Silke Coemans (neurolinguistics), Amalia Arvaniti (phonetics/ phonology), Gert-Jan Schoenmakers (syntax), Meaghan Fowlie (semantics), Mena Lafkioui (typology/dialectology), Mark Dingemanse (communication), Petra Schumacher (language use/discourse), Rajend Mesthrie (sociolinguistics), Dan Dediu (statistics), and Tara Struik (historical linguistics).

Admission is free for those PhD and RM students who are officially affiliated with one of the nine institutes that participate in LOT. Please check with your own institute first before signing up for the LOT school to verify that your LOT school fees have been paid for. Non-LOT PhD students and postdoc researchers pay a tuition fee of 60 euros per course (accommodation not included).
