Dear colleagues,

I hope this email finds you well. My name is Konstantinos Armaos and I am a
cognitive psychologist working in the field of reasoning, motivated
cognition, and the psychology of belief in disinformation - conspiracy
theories. I am contacting you to inform you about an online workshop that
we are organizing (along with professors Ulrike Hahn and Vera Kempe) on the
4-6 of December 2024.

This workshop aims to bring together academics (cognitive and social
psychologists), practitioners (counselors, psychotherapists,
psychiatrists), journalists, and various other agents who work on or are
affected by online disinformation and psychological manipulation. The goal
is to approach these issues from multiple perspectives and identify a
holistic and efficient approach to dealing with them.

You can find more information on the workshop's webpage:
https://www.scibeh.org/events/workshop2024_patient-person-people/, where
you can also see the tentative schedule of the workshop. This page will be
updated in the next period with more information about the speakers and the
breakout discussion sessions.

Registration for the workshop is free. You can register through this
registration link: https://forms.gle/3TQEJyM3dAFHv3Fq6.

We would highly appreciate it if you shared this information with other
academics, practitioners, and journalists, as well as any person affected
by these issues in their everyday lives. One of the goals of this workshop
is to identify ways to provide support to such people. So if you know
people with loved ones deep in the conspiracy rabbit hole, embracing
climate change denial narratives or anti-vaccine tropes, being lured into
extremist groups or cults, please reach out to them and forward them this
invitation.

We recently started advertising the workshop on social media:
