Tenure-Track Position in Computational Approaches to Cognition, Brain, and Behavior
The Department of Psychology and the Cognitive Science Program at the University of Arizona
seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor in computational psychology, computational
cognitive science, and/or computational neuroscience. We seek individuals with expertise in
domains such as modeling complex systems and behavior using approaches such as deep
learning, machine learning, Bayesian methods, artificial neural networks, reinforcement
learning, dynamic systems modelling, network analysis, and large language models. Preference
will be given to applicants with the potential to collaborate across disciplines in Cognitive
Science and Psychology (Cognition and Neural Systems, Clinical, Social). The ideal candidate will
also demonstrate a commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduates and graduate
students from diverse backgrounds.
Faculty in the Psychology Department and the interdisciplinary Cognitive Science Program are
deeply collaborative. Candidates would have the opportunity to work with scientists
investigating cognition and behavior using fMRI, EEG, fNIRS, brain stimulation, single-unit
physiology, and neuromodulation in human and animal models. The Psychology Department
also offers internal funding and mentorship opportunities to support junior faculty.
