The Department of Psychology at the College of the Holy Cross invites
applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor in the area
of Cognitive Psychology/Cognitive Science whose research interests focus on
higher-level cognition (e.g., attention, conceptual change, language,
learning, or reasoning) to begin in August 2025. Applications will be

The Department of Psychology at the College of the Holy Cross invites
applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor in the area
of Cognitive Psychology/Cognitive Science whose research interests focus on
higher-level cognition (e.g., attention, conceptual change, language,
learning, or reasoning) to begin in August 2025.  Candidates who
investigate cognitive processes from different perspectives (e.g., aging,
computational modeling, developmental, educational, or
evolutionary/comparative) are welcome. In their materials, the applicant
should address how their research and/or teaching reflect(s) the
application of cognitive science principles to current societal challenges.
Applicants should also address how they intend to engage undergraduate
students in their program of research. In addition to the courses *Introduction
to Psychology*, *Statistics*, or *Research Methods*, the ideal candidate
should be able to teach fundamental area courses

in cognition, as well as new courses related to their area of expertise.

This position carries a 3-2 teaching load with a research leave prior to
tenure review of either a full year at 80% salary or a semester at full
salary, and generous sabbatical and fellowship leaves for tenured faculty.
To enable a smooth transition to Holy Cross, new full-time tenure-track
Assistant Professors receive start-up funding to support their research and
professional development and have a one-course reduction in their first
year of teaching (i.e., 2-2). All full-time appointments offer competitive

Candidates must demonstrate excellence in scholarship and a commitment to
effective undergraduate teaching in the context of a liberal arts college.
Doctoral degree required by the beginning of the appointment.
