Dear colleagues,

We are seeking to appoint a full-time postdoctoral researcher to join a research project on infant language development at Lancaster University (UK). This is a 3-year post, and the application deadline is July 15th. Please share this ad widely!

The project is titled “The Origins of Infant Word Learning”, and is funded by the Leverhulme Trust. It will investigate how hearing words influences how 6- to 18-month-old infants see objects, how the ways that adults talk about objects lead to these effects, and how this process ultimately leads to word learning. The project is led by Jill Lany (Lancaster University), Perrine Brusini (University of Liverpool) and Alissa Ferry (University of Manchester).

We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to collaborate on this project who has expertise in the areas of early cognitive and/or language development, who is highly curious, motivated, and who is eager to contribute to research on this topic. Applicants will ideally have research experience in relevant areas of infant and/or language and cognitive development, including eyetracking or EEG, and be able to design and conduct theoretically-driven developmental research and state-of-the art data analysis. There will be opportunities for developing new skills, collaborations, and research ideas.
