Dear colleagues,

Abstract submission is now OPEN for the 3rd Many Paths to Language workshop<https://www.mpi.nl/events/many-paths-language-mpal-2023>, which will take place at the Max Planck Institute in Nijmegen from 25th to 27th October, 2023. This will be a hybrid event, so presenters and audience can attend in person or online.

This 3-day workshop focuses on meaningful differences in the way children acquire language. It will explore (a) multiple sources of variation in early language development, including: children's linguistic and cultural environments, their cognitive maturation, and the structural properties of the languages they are acquiring, alongside (b) the implications of this variation for the mechanisms that drive and support native language acquisition, given the overall robustness of learning in the face of this variability.

We are delighted that Leher Singh and Judit Gervain have agreed to be invited speakers, and that Melanie Soderstrom, Thierry Nazzi and Claartje Levelt have agreed to be invited symposium speakers for our symposium in honour of Anne Cutler.<https://www.mpi.nl/people/cutler-anne>

More detail can be found on our website: https://www.mpi.nl/events/many-paths-language-mpal-2023

Abstract submission (4000 characters) will close on at midnight (anywhere in the world) on June 2nd, 2023. Authors will be notified of presentation decisions before August 1st, 2023. Please submit an abstract via the website: https://www.mpi.nl/events/many-paths-language-mpal-2023 (click on Abstract submission in the box on the right of the page).

There will be a limited number of bursaries (EUR 500 each) available for travel. Apply via the abstract submission site.

Many Paths to Language
Children show astonishing variation in the way they acquire their native language(s); each developmental milestone in both production and comprehension is marked by meaningful individual differences.

Best wishes,

Caro
