This is just a reminder of the upcoming 20th January application deadline for the Modelling Consciousness workshop, organised by the Association for Mathematical Consciousness Science.

Models of consciousness are hypotheses about how consciousness relates to the physical domain. Various different and competing models exist, for example Integrated Information Theory, Global Neuronal Workspace Theory, Predictive Processing Theory, Higher Order Thought Theory or Orchestrated Objective Reduction Theory.

This workshop brings together researchers with a deep interest in the scientific study of consciousness to discuss topics regarding the use of mathematical formalisation in addressing questions about consciousness and the mind-matter relation.

It will take place in a mountain cabin in the Austrian alps in Dorfgastein from March 18th to 25th, 2023. Unlike usual workshops and conferences, the focus is not placed upon presentation of recent results, but rather upon creating an atmosphere that stimulates discussion of open questions and new ideas concerning models of consciousness.

The workshop is aimed at researchers of any age who are interested in the problems discussed in contemporary consciousness studies.

The deadline for applications has been extended to January 20th, 2023.  and application details can be found on our website given above.
