[CogSci] MA-level internship at Duolingo: Curriculum Design & Learning Experience

Duolingo is looking for a Master’s student with expertise in instructional
design, applied learning science, or language learning and teaching. At
Duolingo, you will have an opportunity to apply your skills and knowledge
in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, where you see the immediate
impact of your work on millions of learners worldwide. This is a 12-week
internship for summer 2023 (exact dates flexible).

You Will...
- Collaborate with team members across different roles on improving how
Duolingo teaches languages, with the guidance and support of senior
learning experts
- Share learning design practices and research findings with the team and
translate them into concrete ideas that can be applied to the Duolingo
Language app
- Leverage metrics and other data for the creation, re-purposing, and
curation of curriculum/content to meet learning objectives

You Have...
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Applied
Learning Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, or a
related field graduating between Dec. 2023-May 2024
- Excellent knowledge of effective learning design practices, especially as
they apply to language teaching, and ability to explain them in simple ways
to non-experts
- Knowledge of at least one language other than English (preferably Spanish
or French), and experience with language teaching and/or designing course
materials
- Familiarity with the basics of quantitative data analysis

Exceptional Candidates Will Have...
- Experience in a tech environment
- Familiarity with product development, especially in education
