The Department of Anthropology at Stanford University seeks a postdoctoral fellow to participate in a Templeton-funded project on spiritual presence and mind that uses both ethnographic and experimental methods, combining anthropology and psychology. Most but not all data are collected. The ideal candidate will have well developed statistical methods skills. Applicants holding PhDs from anthropology, psychology and sociology and related fields are encouraged to apply. Skill in statistical methods and an interest in the questions is more important than prior work in the area. The position is for one year, renewable to two, with a starting salary of $70,000 or commensurate with experience and skill. The start date is flexible but could begin this autumn. Please contact Tanya Luhrmann (Luhrmann at stanford.edu<mailto:Luhrmann at stanford.edu>) for further details. We will ask for a letter of interest, a vita, three academic references and a sample of writing including evidence of statistical methodology. Review of applications will begin immediately. Thank you!
