23rd Amsterdam Colloquium

Call for Papers



The 23rd Amsterdam Colloquium will be held on 19-21 December, 2022 to bring together linguists, philosophers, logicians, cognitive scientists and computer scientists who share an interest in the formal study of the semantics and pragmatics of natural and formal languages.

The Colloquium will feature two workshops: one on Biases in Language and Cognition, featuring Lilia Rissman (Wisconsin-Madison) and Jennifer Culbertson (Edinburgh); and one on Compositional Approaches to Projection, featuring Márta Abrusán (Institut Jean Nicod) and David Beaver (UT Austin). The regular programme will feature talks by Justin Bledin (Johns Hopkins), Gemma Boleda (Pompeu Fabra), Jacopo Romoli (Düsseldorf), and Teresa Marques (Barcelona). The Amsterdam Colloquium will also feature one evening lecture jointly organized with the E.W. Beth Foundation.



The Amsterdam Colloquium will feature a poster/ lighting talks session for both the regular programme and the workshops. Poster presentations will be published as regular papers in the proceedings.



The Amsterdam Colloquium invites submissions of anonymous abstracts at most two pages in length (excluding references). The deadline for the submission of abstracts is September 1, 2022. Authors will be notified of acceptance by October 20, 2022. Full papers (up to 6 pages, excluding references) to be included in the proceedings are due on December 1, 2022. The proceedings of the Amsterdam Colloquium will be downloadable from the Amsterdam Colloquium website during the conference.
