Dear colleagues,
The Department of Cognitive Sciences at the University of California,
Irvine, expects to admit approximately 15 graduate students for the
2022-2023 academic year.
If you have students who are interested in graduate school, we'd love to
meet them! Please forward this email to any student you feel would be a
good fit for UCI's Ph.D. program in cognitive sciences
<https://sites.uci.edu/cogsphd/>. Please note that this year's
application deadline is December 1, 2021.
If we can help answer any questions along the way - either from yourself
or your students - please don't hesitate to get in touch. On November 22
at 11am PT, graduate admissions director Prof. Mimi Liljeholm will hold
virtual open office hours for anyone who has questions about applying to
UC Irvine's PhD program in Cognitive Sciences (RSVP required
<https://forms.gle/EYKvUkq79jvF3uC96>).
Sincerely,
UCI School of Social Sciences Graduate Affairs

innovative approaches with modern tools to study fundamental human
abilities including attention, memory, language, decision making, and
problem solving.
Graduate research specialties include:
* Computational and mathematical cognitive modeling
* Cognitive neuroscience (a concentration is offered in this topic)
* Visual and auditory perception
* Attention and representation
* Learning and development
* Memory and language
* Judgment and decision making
Students work together with faculty advisors who are highly experienced
in the use of leading technologies such as EEG, fMRI, and robotics, and
