Now available for viewing: virtual MathPsych/ICCM 2021

Pre-recorded presentations for the virtual MathPsych/ICCM 2021
conference are now available for viewing via mathpsych.org
<https://mathpsych.org/>.  Iff you don't have an account with us yet,
please be sure to create one to see all the website's features.

Please note that, while many recorded presentations are freely available
to the public, some are restricted to conference attendees, and some
sessions require additional registration.  Be sure to *register today*
<https://mathpsych.org/member/purchase/conference/7> to take advantage
of the early-bird discount, and consider applying for a MathPsych
membership to take advantage of significant discounts.  Membership also
entitles you to attend the virtual annual business meeting on July 9 (at
4pm EDT).

The interactive component of the conference will take place every
weekday from July 1 to 12.  The interactive sessions take place via Zoom
or gather.town and are strictly limited to registered conference attendees.

Finally, we are pleased to announce a late-breaking keynote lecture by
Colin Allen (University of Pittsburgh) titled "Three questions about
mathematical psychology."  Keynote lectures are not yet viewable but
will gradually become available over the next week.

Announcing virtual MathPsych/ICCM 2021 and Call for Symposia

We invite you to virtual MathPsych/ICCM 2021, the joint gathering of the
54th Annual Meeting of the Society for Mathematical Psychology and the
19th International Conference on Cognitive Modelling (ICCM): the premier
conference for research on computational models and computation-based
theories of human cognition. Following our success in previous years,
ICCM has again joined forces with the Society for Mathematical
Psychology to create a conference in which all sessions are open to all
attendees, and cross-talk is highly encouraged.

Virtual MathPsych/ICCM 2021 is a forum for presenting and discussing the
complete spectrum of cognitive modeling approaches, including
connectionism, symbolic modeling, dynamical systems, Bayesian modeling,
and cognitive architectures. Research topics can range from low-level
perception to high-level reasoning. We also welcome contributions that
use computational models to better understand neuroscientific data.

      Format and venue

Following the model of the successful 2020 virtual meeting, the
conference will be fully online, with no in-person component, and all
submitted presentations to be provided as recordings.

The conference will once again take place on the Society for
Mathematical Psychology’s online venue, mathpsych.org
<https://mathpsych.org>. Access will be provided upon registration.

      Important dates

*Abstract submission deadline (MathPsych)*
	*May 1, 2021*
Abstract submission deadline (ICCM)

    Call for symposia

Symposia are blocks of four to eight regular-length presentations on a
relatively narrow topic. “Regular length” means that there are 20
minutes total per presentation (this includes time for questions and
answers). To propose a symposium, send an email to
conferencecommittee at mathpsych.org
<mailto:conferencecommittee at mathpsych.org> with subject line
“Symposium:” followed by a short title. In the body of the email, please
provide a symposium title; a 200-250 word abstract; and a proposed list
of speakers. Please also indicate which speakers (if any) have already
agreed to contribute.

The deadline for symposium proposals is *May 1, 2021*. The conference
committee will review proposals within one week. The strongest proposals
involve a topic that is of interest to many conference attendees, while
also attracting new people who don’t normally attend the conference.
Ideally, many of the proposed speakers have already agreed to contribute.

    Submission categories

There are four submission categories. In all cases, authors should send
in an abstract or paper for review. Once the submission is accepted,
authors will be invited to record a presentation. These recorded
presentations will be made available for viewing some time before the
interactive component of the conference starts.

Video duration up to 15 minutes

Live Q&A TBD dates between July 1–12
