The Smart Health and Biomedical Research in the Era of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Data Science (SCH; NSF 21-530) is beginning to start the 2021 review process. A new emphasis is Medical image interpretation (to determine how characteristics of human pattern recognition, visual search, perceptual learning, attentional biases, etc. can inform and improve use and development of presentation modalities It also supports new methods to exploit experts' implicit knowledge to improve perceptual decision making (e.g., via rapid gist extraction, context-guided search, etc.) and research on how experts respond to changes in cognitive factors, such as interruptions, changes in sleep, or background distractions.

The success of the peer review process depends on the willingness of qualified reviewers like you to share your time and expertise. To find appropriate reviewers for the jointly managed NSF-NIH Smart Health Program review panels, we are asking for your participation in this quick survey concerning your availability and areas of expertise. Panels will be held virtually on specific dates in April 2021.

Note, we need all types of expertise to make the Smart health panels effective. So if you are interested, please complete the survey. Also, if you are applying this year, you can still review in the program (just on different panels than your proposal). Also, please share the survey with others. If you cannot review this year, we understand and thank you for considering this.
