The Department of Psychology (psychology.ucsd.edu) within the Division of
Social Sciences at the University of California, San Diego invites
applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Social
Psychology, with a start date of July 1st, 2022.

Ideal candidates will apply state-of-the-art approaches to topics of
perennial interest (e.g., attitudes, close relationships, cooperation,
emotion, health psychology, intergroup relations, social cognition) or
emerging interest (e.g., collective action, morality, politics, responses
to climate change) within social psychology. We welcome applications from
candidates whose work connects to other areas in the Department (for
example, cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, cognitive
neuroscience, and our burgeoning emphasis on computational social science).

Candidates must have a Ph.D. or ABD and a record of published research in
social psychology or a relevant field.

Successful candidates are expected to establish a vigorous program of
high-quality research. Candidates with a strong social psychology
background and demonstrated (or potential) national influence on their area
will be given preference. Successful candidates are required to teach
graduate and undergraduate students within the Department of Psychology.
Demonstrated teaching excellence is preferred.

The Department of Psychology is committed to academic excellence and

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of
California pay scales.
