Languages carve up the world differently into named categories -- what is
the nature of this variation and how does it arise? We have a funded PhD
position for a student who'd like to study these questions from a
computational perspective. The position is based at the University of
Melbourne, Australia, and supervised jointly by Charles Kemp (Psychology)
and Trevor Cohn (Computer Science). Potential students with backgrounds in
linguistics, computer science, or computational cognitive science are all
encouraged to apply.

Please email Charles (c.kemp at unimelb.edu.au) for more information.
