Postdoctoral position in “Neural Network Modeling of Semantic Decline in Bilingual Aphasia”
Boston University and UT Austin

A postdoc position is open in an NIH-sponsored project on neural network modeling of patients whose lexical processing is impaired due to primary progressive aphasia. The model will be customized for each patient and used to predict the progression of the impairment. The work consists of constructing the models building on the BiLex architecture of multiple connected self-organizing maps, developing the predictions, and analyzing and reporting the results. A successful candidate will have a PhD (or equivalent research experience) in Computer Science, Cognitive Science, or a related area, and will be familiar with such methods.

The position is available immediately or starting at a mutually agreeable date, initially for one year, and possibly renewable for additional years. The project is a collaboration of Prof. Swathi Kiran at Boston University and Prof. Risto Miikkulainen at the University of Texas at Austin.
