[CogSci] Minds on Math talk series at the National Museum of Mathematics

Dear Colleagues,

Please find attached the announcement for the inaugural talk by Dr. Elizabeth Spelke (Harvard University) in the Minds on Math series. This talk series is sponsored by the Lab for the Developing Mind at NYU and the National Museum of Mathematics; it’s supported by the NSF. Dr. Spelke’s talk will take place on Wednesday, September 25 at 6:30PM at the museum (11 East 26th Street, New York, NY 10010), and it is free and open to the public. Over the next five years, Minds on Math will feature accomplished scholars in developmental psychology, cognitive science, mathematics, and education, who conduct research on how our minds and brains learn and appreciate math and related fields. The lab and the museum will also offer complementary family events (free with museum admission; registration not required) where the content of the main talks will be presented in a way that’s informative to parents and children.
