The Psycholinguistics Lab at the University of Connecticut is advertising a PhD position starting Fall 2019.
The Psycholinguistics Lab<https://altmann.lab.uconn.edu>, directed by Dr. Gerry Altmann at the University of Connecticut, is looking for a highly motivated student with a strong background in cognitive psychology, and an interest in psycholinguistics or cognition more broadly. The successful applicant will ideally (but not necessarily) have some experience or exposure to neuroscientific methods (such as EEG or fMRI). Current projects include behavioral and neuroscientific explorations of event cognition and of prediction during sentence and event processing. The lab uses assorted methods including (but not limited to) eye tracking, fMRI, and high density 256-channel EEG. The lab is currently the home to three graduate students (one due to graduate Summer 2019) and one postdoc. The Psycholinguistics Lab is a part of the Division of Perception, Action, and Cognition within the Department of Psychological Sciences<https://psych.uconn.edu> and is also a part of the CT Institute for the Brain and Cognitive Sciences<http://ibacs.uconn.edu>. Please send informal inquiries to Gerry Altmann (gerry.altmann at uconn.edu<mailto:gerry.altmann at uconn.edu>). Details of the application process can be found here<https://grad.psych.uconn.edu/prospective/phd/application-deadlines/>.
